Pursuant to a meeting of the congregations of the First Congregational Church of Little Falls and Methodist Episcopal Church of Little Falls, held Sunday, January 12, 1969, it was voted to adopt First United Church
as the name of the new corporation for the recently consolidated congregations.
The purpose of First United is to carry out the mission of the Christian faith, to do the work of the combined churches, the denominations of the United Methodist Church and the United Church of Christ, and to seek growth for the church in new areas of endeavor. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the church shall exist for the maintenance of worship, the edification of believers, and shall serve as the strategic base from which Christians move out to the structures of society.
